Retreat FAQ’s

1. Can I have less than 12 people?   Yes.  You do not need to have 12 people, but there is an 8 person minimum charge even if you don’t have 8 people.

2.  Do I need to bring my own linens?  Sheets, bedding, and kitchen towels are provided.  Bath towels are not.

3. What time can I arrive and how long can we stay the last day?   Weekend Retreats:   Friday 8am – Sunday 4pm   Additional Thurs Night Arrival:   After Noon  Additional Sunday Night-Monday Departure:    Before Noon     Weekday Retreats: Depends on days of the week and existing schedule. Ask your retreat coordinator about agreed upon times.

4. Is there a kitchen?   There is a fully-equipped kitchen available to make all your own food for the weekend. Cy’s Bar & Grill on the main floor also provides dine-in and take-out menu.  Check out area restaurant options under the “Around Town” tab of our website too.

Dishes, glassware, mugs, flatware, pots, pans, coffee machine/filters, etc. are provided.  Paper plates, napkins, plasticware, and coffee are not.  There is no filtered water or ice machine.  The faucet water is city water that you can drink if you want.  There is also a chilled water fountain in the hallway.  Ice is not provided, but 10lb bags can be purchased from the bar at $2.50/bag.

5. How do I get my supplies and guests upstairs?  A wheeled utility cart holding up to 500 lbs is available to haul supplies and luggage up through the elevator directly to the main project room on the third floor. There is access to the cart via the west entrance or the off a ramped entrance on the north side.

6. How many bathrooms are there?  There are 2 bathrooms on the third floor on each end of the building.  There is a shower in the bathroom closest the bedrooms with an 85 gallon water heater.  Vanity areas are available in each bedroom to put on make-up, plug in hair dryers/curling irons, & freshen up, when needed.  There is also a shower time sign up board so you can continue working on your project until it is your time to shower.  Many people tend to lounge most of the weekend and aren’t showering every day either.  There are 2 additional public restrooms in the main floor lobby area, if needed.

7.  What equipment is provided?   There are tables and specialty Koala wheeled crafting chairs along with individual cutting boards for 12 work stations.  Specialty lighting and individual garbage containers, and ample outlets/strips are provided.  There are also 2 tables for cutting areas or setting up additional equipment you may bring (cricket, etc.).  There are 3 ironing boards and irons with an ample number of outlets for sewing machines, etc.  There are also 2 – 4’x8′ felt boards for the quilters to enjoy when piecing patterns together.  You will need to bring your own sewing machines, computer, printer, or cricket machines.  None of these are provided. 

8.  Do we prepare our own food?   You are responsible for your own food.  There is a fully equipped kitchen available.  Cy’s Bar & Grill on the main floor also provides dine-in or take-out options.  There are also many other restaurants and a grocery store within blocks nearby.

9. Where should  I park?   Temporarily park at the base of the ramp on the back side of the building to load/unload.  Overnight parking is available along Pine Street where there is angled parking in front of the adjacent house, parallel street parking, or perpendicular parking on 5th St.  Overnight parking is also available in the city parking lot next to city hall/library ACROSS the street.  Be aware of signed parking restrictions in some areas.  CMP is not responsible for vehicle towing due to not adhering to by signed parking restrictions.   A map of parking areas is posted on the refrigerator too.

10. Is there Wifi?   Yes. The Wifi security code is provided upon arrival.

11. Is there TV/DVD Player?   There is a mobile cart with TV/DVD (no Blu-ray) player so you can watch movies in any room you’d like. Bring your own DVDs. Unfortunately, we do not provide cable TV, but you are welcome to stream shows on your own computer using the wifi or head downstairs to Cy’s Bar for regular television.

12. Is there air conditioning?  Yes.

13. Is there a docking statio or radio?   Yes. There is a docking station with apple compatibility.
